5.3 Map Editor

The Map Editor can be accessed from either the “Edit” or the “New” function.

    Inputs:

  • Display Name – map’s name (specified by user).
  • Win Keyboard – contains a list of available keyboard based on current Windows settings.
  • Mac OS Input – when connected to a remote Mac computer, contains a list of available Mac OS input languages.
  • Allow using this keyboard map – activates the current map.
  • Functions:

  • Add – creates a new conversion rule including: Windows Key, Shift key status and corresponding Mac Key and Shift status.
  • Edit – change an existing conversion rule.
  • Delete – delete an existing conversion rule.
  • Apply – use a new conversion rule in the current session.
  • Conversion Rules:

  • Win. Key – the Windows key identifier that is associated with the event (a list of key identifiers is provided, for reference, in the next section of this document).
  • Shift – the status of the “shift key” (in Windows). This can be: Any, Up (the key is not pressed) or Down (the key is pressed).
  • Mac. Key – the desired corresponding Mac key identifier (a list of key identifiers is provided, for reference, in the next section of this document).
  • Shift – the corresponding status of the “shift key” on the remote Mac computer. The available options are: Any (will match the Windows shift key status), Up (the key is not pressed) and Down (the key is pressed).
