I have installed iRAPP but cannot access my Mac. What is wrong?

Make sure that both your Mac and PC have working network connections using cable or wireless connection. Then verify that your PC has network access to your Mac. If your network has a firewall, you need to check that it permits an incoming connection to two ports: 4073 (iRAPP) and 3389 (RDP).

Also, be sure to add the following applications to your firewall exceptions list located at System Preferences > Security > Firewall > Advanced:

  • Daemon: "/System/Library/CoreServices/rapserver.app/Contents/MacOS/rapserverd"
  • License Manager: "/System/Library/CoreServices/rapserver.app/Contents/Agents/iRAPP License.app/Contents/MacOS/iRAPP License"

For easy step-by-step instructions to configure your firewall, please see our Firewall Configuration Article.

Once these steps are complete, you can see the current IP address of your Mac in the "System Preferences => iRAPP Server" dialog box.
